This unique tour sees you exploring the Nepalese landscape via bike for the first 6 days of the tour. The final 5 days are spent discovering this mesmerising land by safari, with some epic adrenalin-fuelled activities included such as paragliding, elephant safaris and canoeing.
Some of the fantastic cycling includes a 9-km (5.5 mi) single track, known as “Scar Road”, which runs through Shivapuri National Park, biking from Shivapuri village to Chisapani on a single biking trail known as “30 Minutes of Heaven”, cycling to Nagarkot, which is another popular hill station offering the breathtaking sights of the snow-white peaks. One of the major attractions of staying overnight at Nagarkot is the sunrise in the morning. Wake up before dawn and go out on the balcony. You will be amazed at the scenery. The sun rays light up the Himalayan mountains and turn them from white to red and gold.
You will pass through beautiful towns that have preserved their cultures well and have a distinct medieval look, for example, Panauti and Dhulikhel, both of which are Newari towns. You will cycle to a sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site, Namobuddha and see a giant statue of Shiva, one of the significant Hindu gods along the way. When the biking tour ends, the safari adventure begins. Take a drive to Chitwan National Park. At the park, you will do lots of activities such as elephant safari, canoeing, jungle safari, visit an elephant breeding centre and watching wildlife. You will get to watch some of the rare wild birds and animals and plants.
Note that although the daily cycling distances are moderate (approximately 30km/18.6mi per day), this is high altitude cycling with many uphill climbs. Some MTB experience is also required - see the photos for examples.
