This 'Bike The Wineries' full-day trip begins with a scenic shuttle transfer from Queenstown to Arrow Junction, close to the quaint gold mining village of Arrowtown. Here you'll be fitted to your bike, get the low down on navigation, bike safety and very importantly; winery information. Start your scenic morning ride along the beautiful Arrow and Kawarau Rivers to the Kawarau Suspension Bridge – home of the world-famous Bungy jump.
From the bungy, spend the afternoon biking at your leisure along the Gibbston River Trail using the informative winery map you'll be given to visit as many of the 8+ wineries linked throughout this easy riding trail. Enjoy a relaxed lunch en route or picnic at one of the many wineries if you prefer.
At the end of the day, you'll be picked up from the winery of your choice and shuttle back Queenstown so taste as many wines as you like as the driving part has been taken care of for you. The tour operator will also collect any wine you might buy.
The riding distance to the first winery is 15km. To get all the way to the end of the wine valley you’ll end up covering about 25km so the distance is variable depending on where you decide to end. Children are welcome on this tour with discounts available.
