This complex trail system will take you back in time and make you wonder how troops managed during the Vietnam War. You'll also be riding through the astounding Vietnamese countryside filled with lush forests and rice paddies. From urban to rural setting, you’ll always look forward to an exciting day of riding.
The route takes you to a road along the Ma river with majestic limestone cliffs and thick bamboo forests in the background. You will be fully supported by the tour’s back up vehicle as you go on the newly built Ho Chi Minh Trail highway. Pass by modest villages for a quick break and get the chance to interact with locals and know more about them.
Go on a steady cadence along the Chu river also known as the Nam Sam River, the largest water tributary of Ma river. On multiple occasions you can expect green scenery since the route will be mostly in rural settings.
Explore Phong Nha cave, a world class natural wonder. It is the longest underground river and voted as one of the worlds most wonderful cave. The cave also stood witness to the horrors of the Vietnam war, when it was discovered as a hiding place for floating bridges, a hospital and hide out of the North Vietnamese Army. US forces bombed the cave heavily leaving scars that you can still see up to now.
Towards the end of the tour, visit another landmark with a dark past. The DMZ (Demilitarized Zone), specifically the Truong Son National Cemetery and the Vinh Moc tunnels, are places where there are reminders of the horrors of war. Visiting these places lets you reflect on lessons learned from the past that would hopefully never be experienced again.
Wrap up the tour in Hue City where you will have your farewell dinner with the group to cap off a great journey on the Ho Chi Minh trails.
