Where does the tour start and end?
The tour runs from/to Christchurch. Fly in/out of Christchurch International Airport (CHC).
How long is the tour? How many days riding?
The tour is 10 days long with 8 days of riding.
What's the tour like?
The tour is varied in terms of terrain and landscapes along the way. The tour operator says you will be riding between 30 and 60 km (18.6 and 37.2 mi) on the ride days but you will obviously have an e-bike so do not have to do all of the work yourself. That said, you will get much more out of the tour if you have a moderate level of fitness. If at any point, the riding is too much you are welcome to ride in the support vehicle whenever you wish.
Is a bike included?
Yes. A fantastic Kalkoff Voyager B8 E-bike is included in the tour price.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, 18 is the minimum age for the tour.
If I'm travelling on my own, do I have to pay more?
If you wish to have your own room or are travelling alone then a single supplement is payable.
Are helmets required?
Yes. A helmet is required to be worn on all biking activities and is non-negotiable. If you do not wear a helmet you won't be allowed to cycle. Helmets are not supplied so you are either welcome to buy your own or can purchase one from the tour operator for $35NZD.
Is the tour guided?
Yes, the tour is fully guided by passionate local leaders who are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
Is there any support?
Yes, the tour is fully supported and a tour bus will be following you so you are welcome to hop on the bus at any point if the riding is too much.

The tour is new as are the owners of the business and as such do not yet have any reviews.
What if the TranzAlpine is not operating?
As of February 2021 the TranzAlpine is running on a limited timetable. If the train is not running during your tour, then you will be transported back to Christchurch via the tour van, and the cost of the train will be deducted from the overall tour cost.
