Supported by knowledgeable local guides, this captivating multi-country journey expertly blends culture, history, scrumptious cuisines and dazzling vistas. While the scope of this ride is vast the cycling is relatively straightforward with an enjoyable array of terrain to test your wheels on.
You'll want you to enjoy and be comfortable, so you'll stay in great hotels and there are two rest days to soak up the beauty of Cambodian cities Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. You'll hop on the bike in earnest after leaving Bangkok and breeze along the beaches near the town of Chanthaburi. The fresh sea air is behind as you head for the transfer over the Cambodian border; the serenity in this quiet region is palpable.
Switching into Cambodia brings with it a new wave of anticipation. The variation in riding and sights is startling. For instance, you'll join a local NGO for a day and ride through the villages of Battambang to discover the traditional methods behind making many local delicacies such as rice wine and dried bananas – a real treat for foodies. On another day, marvel at the astounding temple complex of Angkor Wat – it’s easy to see why this is considered the seventh wonder of the world.
After pedaling away from the tourist hotspots and into unspoiled countryside, you'll take a boat down the Mekong River into the final country – Vietnam. Landing in the Mekong Delta region, it is little wonder this is known as the ‘rice bowl’ because of the luscious greenery on display everywhere. Here you will cycle along pretty maze of waterways, while also reveling in the chaotic yet calm floating markets.
Finally, after an epic couple of weeks together you'll round off things by exploring the beauty of Saigon in a historic ending to this stunning adventure.
