- Day 1Welcome to Saigon
You have officially arrived in Vietnam and the excitement is building for this family adventure. The bikes will have to wait for a bit though as your family checks out the sizzling city of Saigon and sample its culinary delights .
Explore the city and immediately your senses will be bombarded by new sights, sounds and smells. It is quite an experience and there will be time to enjoy a meal together before running through the schedule of the tour.
- Day 2Speeding up the Saigon River
Kick start the first morning in a new land with breakfast before boarding a speed boat to the Saigon River. This lets you avoid the hustle and bustle of the city’s morning traffic. Your family will eventually stop off at the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels. These are renowned for their use by the Vietnamese army during the conflict with the US, the tunnels became a critical secret weapon.
Following the tour alongside knowledgeable and local guides, you'll drive deeper into the Mekong Delta to find the hotel for the night in the pretty town of Ben Tre.

- Day 3Get those wheels spinning
theAfter a filling breakfast from the hotel or local market, you will be energized to jump on the boat and check out the islands area. As it’s your first full day on the bikes, the group will go on a gentle pace, navigating flat roads that follow the canal and are provided ample shade from the overhanging trees. It’s a perfect start especially when you stop and sample the fresh fruit from the trees.
After a successful ride, the family will stop at the home of the hosts for the evening. Here you can chill out and rest your legs before wandering round the village or helping the lovely hosts cook dinner for everyone.

- Day 4Diving deeper into the Delta’s delights
Time is drawing to a close in the Mekong Delta and you might feel sad with the impending departure from the area. After all it has offered so much especially on this last day which has been packed with more delights.
A particular highlight is the famous floating markets of this region, but while the tourists flock to the crazy main market near Can Tho, you'll be fortunate to have hosts who are in the know and will instead take you to a more authentic, local market.
Your nostrils and eyes will lead you around as you see an array of vegetables being tossed in the pan or local coffee being served up. It is a true assault on the senses with color and something interesting taking place everywhere. It makes for a wonderful last day before boarding the flight to Danang and then onward travel to the picture perfect town of Hoi An.
- Day 5Magnificent morning ride to My Son
It’s back to the bikes today as you head out on a special early morning ride. A breezy start will have your heart soaring as you glide along the Hoi An River. There will be quiet and easy pathways as you drift past sprawling rice fields and sunflower farms on either side.
The road flows ahead until the stop midway to transfer via vehicle the rest of the distance to My Son. This is the ancient center of Cham Civilization and there's an incredible collection of ruined Hindu temples from the period when the Kingdom of Champa controlled much of central and South Vietnam.
Afterwards, you'll head back to Hoi An where the afternoon is your own to explore the town, its shopping delights and beach before meeting up for dinner again.

- Day 6Take it easy in Hoi An
Hoi An is defined by many as a melting pot of different cultures, architecture and cuisines. Naturally, we want you to have the opportunity to explore this town that people rate so highly. Formerly a major port, the town used to play host to the Chinese and Japanese sailors with their influence still seen until today. Hoi An’s old town is full of Japanese merchant houses, Chinese temples and ancient tea houses. With the town set on a splendid river, a glorious nearby beach and stunning countryside this is the perfect spot to take everything in.
- Day 7Turning the pedals to Tam Ky
This journey through Vietnam combines boating and biking, but today your family will have an adventure by boat. After the boat ride, switch back to bikes and swish through a scintillating peninsula that has been formed by sand dunes. Continue on the journey with fishing villages snaking along the sides and happy fishermen waving. It opens the eyes to the more rural perspective of Vietnam, but despite the hardships the locals are always smiling and eager to say ‘hello’ .
Having broken for a spot of lunch, continue pedaling towards the picturesque town of Tam Ky where the silence is bliss with not a tourist in sight. Furthermore, it means you have free rein over the fantastic food on offer without having to battle for any last serving.

- Day 8Absorbing Vietnam’s troubling history
Vietnam is a country full of stunning sights, sounds and smells, but it also holds a captivating and occasionally gruesome history in its battle for independence. Today you'll explore the past further on a visit to the site of the My Lai Massacre. This significant location now acts as a memorial to those innocent Vietnamese who lost their lives when they were savagely killed by the US Military in the conflict between the countries. It is a particularly poignant place to visit and will likely make you feel very reflective.
The bikes will be used to reach the site and en route the group will tackle some beautiful coastal riding. With farms and fishing villages passing by on either side it will come as no surprise that there will be fresh squid for lunch.
Following the visit to the My Lai Massacre site, you will head for the town of Quang Ngai where the night will be spent.

- Day 9Soaking up the spectacular scenery
The vistas in Vietnam are truly a sight to behold, but to experience them from a bicycle really takes it to another level. Today is a prime example of this as you take the bikes out across on undulating hills. They are mildly challenging, but they are well worth conquering for the views over the land and coastline.
There will be another exquisite seafood lunch before heading into the city of Quy Nhon. You'll be staying in a slice of luxury tonight as you stay at a hotel with views over the beach and mountains that loom on the outskirts of the city.

- Day 10Banking that last bit of biking time in the villages
Make your last day of riding memorable as you cycle through picturesque fishing villages. The surroundings are beautiful and the smiles of the locals, their friendly waves and curious looks will have you buzzing along on your bike. This ride is on the shorter side today, but it combines serene coastline and mesmerizing countryside to a delightful effect.
Having put away the bikes for final farewell your family can lap up some more time at an exclusive coastal resort back in Quy Nhon. This can be anything from some family fun activities on the beach or just chilling out with a book, relaxing and having a well-earned nap.

This day is for pure relaxation at the Avani Quy Nhon Resort & Spa where you have been staying in the last few day. The resort has its own private beach with spectacular views over rocky islands – these alone are enough to keep you at peace and taking photos to make your friends jealous. The resort offers an array of water activities to enjoy, while the adults can also receive some spa treatments that will soothe the body. Finally, there is also a pool to enjoy or you can just grab an excellent cocktail and reflect on a brilliant adventure with your family.
