Where does the tour start and end?
The tour starts in Christchurch, a major transport hub with Christchurch International Airport (CHC) centrally located.
The tour ends in Blenheim, Marlborough. Marlborough Airport (Woodbourne Airport - BHE) is a 20-minute flight from Wellington International Airport and a five-minute drive to Blenheim. You can also fly into Koromiko Airport (PCN) halfway between Picton and Blenheim.
Interisland ferries from the North Island of New Zealand arrive regularly in Picton which is a 20-minute car ride from Blenheim. Buses and trains arrive regularly in Blenheim.
How long is the tour? How many days riding?
The tour is 5 days long with 4 days riding.
What's the tour like?
The tour is on mostly flat, quiet roads with a maximum of 30 kms (18.6 mi) of cycling per day. However, bear in mind that you will be using an E-bike and so will have the benefit of assisted pedalling on the tour.
Is a bike included?
Yes. A fantastic Kalkoff Voyager B8 E-bike is included in the tour price.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, 18 is the minimum age for the tour.
If I'm travelling on my own, do I have to pay more?
If you wish to have your own room or are travelling alone then a single supplement is payable.
Are helmets required?
A helmet is required to be worn on all biking activities and is non-negotiable. If you do not wear a helmet you won't be allowed to cycle.
Are bag transfers included?
Yes. Your bags will be moved between accommodations daily and will be waiting for you at the final destination.
As the tour is self-guided, how will I know where to go?
Your arrival information will include detailed, daily riding instructions for your tour along with the map showing your route highlighted. Riding instructions will provide thorough information and give you the flexibility to travel at your own pace.
