Itinerary Details

1. Day 1Ft. Stevens State Park to Manzanita

   After a morning pick-up, you will shuttle 2 ½ hours to Ft. Stevens State Park in the northwest tip of Oregon. You’ll get to know each other over a delicious lunch prepared by your guides. The first ride begins in Ft. Stevens State Park. Continuing on, you’ll ride south through the town of Seaside and along the coast to Cannon Beach. This is a popular, up-scale town know for its wide, white-sand beach overlooked by Haystock Rock, one of the largest coastal monoliths in the world.

   Continuing down the coast, you’ll ride to Manzanita, a charming coastal town and your resting stop for the night.

2. Day 2Manzanita to Pacific City

   Today takes you from lush forests to dairy country. Leaving Manzanita, you’ll ride through the town of Rockaway Beach, one of the most family-oriented towns on the North Oregon coast. The next point of interest is Tillamook, home of the world-famous cheese factory. The route takes you on the scenic Three Capes tour route.

   Your day ends in Pacific City, renowned for its beautiful seaside sunsets.

3. Day 3Layover Day

   Day Three is a layover day with an optional cycle if you like. This is a perfect time to explore nearby Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area. At Cape Kiwanda you will be able to watch hang-gliders soaring above seaside bluffs, explore sand dunes, and watch fishing dories launching from the beach.

   Optional activities: a hike to Hart’s Cove, a hidden seaside cove nestled in beautiful Cascade Head Scenic Research Area or Cape Lookout. Alternatively, you could rent a surfboard and enjoy the break in Pacific City.

4. Day 4Pacific City to Newport

   Enjoy a peaceful ride winding through the wooded areas beyond Lincoln City. You’ll continue south through numerous state parks as you make your way to Newport. The town of Newport, population 9,960, preserves the charm of the turn-of-the-century era in The Old Bay Front, a waterfront section of the town. Newport is also one of the most popular ocean diving areas in the state.

   Enjoy the evening strolling through town and visiting the shops along Main Street.

5. Day 5Newport to Cape Perpetua

   The quaint, coastal towns of Seal Rock, Waldport, and Yachats await today as you head south to Cape Perpetua. As you ride through Seal Rock, be sure to look at the “seal rocks,” or partially submerged rocks, lining the coast. Riding through Waldport, you’ll get to traverse one of the popular scenic bridges found along the Oregon coast.

   Next, you’ll pass through Yachats, whose name is derived from the Chinook Indian word Yahuts, meaning dark water at the foot of the mountain. This quiet coastal town is an ideal place for a quick rest before you continue through the Suislaw National Forest to Cape Perpetua. Stretch your legs with an afternoon hike to one of the most beautiful lookouts on the Oregon Coast.

6. Day 6Cape Perpetua to Florence

   Today you'll leave the rocky coastlines and enter dune country. Two stops along the way make a nice finish to the tour of the Oregon Coast. You will stop to visit the Heceta Lighthouse, the brightest and most photographed lighthouse on the Oregon Coast. You will also visit Darlingtonia state natural area, home of the carnivorous, insect-eating pitcher plants.

   The tour ends at Jesse M Honeymoon State Park where there is a great picnic spot on a scenic lake to finish the tour. You will have lunch around 1 p.m. and shuttle back to Portland arriving approximately 4-5 p.m.
