Every day will start with a bang as you embark on a voyage of discovery on two wheels. Criss-crossing your way through the kaleidoscope of landscapes that Thailand has on offer is no mean task, but you’ll achieve it in brilliant fashion. One day you will be whizzing through a forest trail cut by elephants, while the next you’ll be serenely pedaling along the Mae Kok River and marveling at the locals, who have made this place their home.
Meeting up in Chiang Mai, you quickly ditch the city life for the flow of nature by heading out via vehicle to the Bua Thong waterfall. After staring agape at the multi-tiered waterfall it’s time to get riding as you navigate the forest before stopping off at the Mae Ngad reservoir for what will be the first of many stunning vistas on this tour.
To be as comfortable as possible, every night is spent in a luxurious hotel complete with a swimming pool, which makes those mornings all the trickier for waking up. But when you get out of bed, enjoy a sumptuous breakfast and your first trip out is to the stunning Chiang Dao Caves, it’s worth rising for.
You’re fortunate to walk around this captivating cave system before trading this experience for a quite contrasting one: riding through the villages of the foothills and meeting the residents. Knowledgeable guides really work wonders here by helping you interact with these fascinating people.
The true measure of this special journey is that no day is ever the same and following a serene third day of riding alongside the Mae Kok River, an action-packed final day has been planned as you head for the diverse and cultural city of Chiang Rai. Stopping to soak in a relaxing hot springs, pedal out to all the best sights before rounding things off at the fascinating Wat Rong Khun, or the White Temple as it is known. It’s the perfect place to finish and reflect on an amazing taster cycling experience of Thailand.
