  • Where does the tour start and finish?

The tour starts and finishes in Avignon. Fly in/out of Avignon Provence Airport (AVN).

  • How long is the tour?

The tour is 6 days long with 4.5 days of cycling.

  • What's the tour like?

One needs a fairly good fitness level to fully enjoy this extraordinary trip: Although challenging Ventoux can be skipped, some sections involve some climbing.

This tour can only be done by cyclists who can comfortably cover 45 to 50 miles (70-80km) per day with some climbs! Note, however, that the toughest of all (Ventoux!) is optional — an alternative route is possible via the scenic Gorges de la Nesque.

  • Can I have my own room?

The tour price is based on two people sharing a room. If you'd like your own room or are traveling solo then a single supplement applies.

  • What do you mean by Option A?

There are two options for this tour.  Option A is the default price and includes 3 nights in 3-star properties and 2 nights in 2-star properties.

Option A+ has the same itinerary and routes but the difference is that accommodations will be in more premium properties, thus making the tour price more expensive. It includes a night in a 5-star hotel, 2 nights in 4-star properties and 2 nights in 3-star properties.

I just wanted to let you know that the 3 girls from Utah had an amazing time!! We loved the routes through Provence, all of the hotels, and the food was delicious! We especially enjoyed Hotel le Pins. The staff were so friendly and it was truly a lovely spot! It was so nice to unwind there after a very windy day and rest up for Ventoux...which we did on the most beautiful sunny, low-wind day! What we enjoyed most was the variety along the way. Each day highlighted something new and unique to the Provence area and we loved the surprises we experienced at every turn. Thanks again for a lovely trip and we will definitely ride with [the tour operator] again!

I can't say enough good about [the tour operator]. We enjoy traveling on our own so this is the perfect solution for us. The quality and value of these trips surpass any of their competitors. My husband and I have participated in the Provence tour which started and ended in Avignon. We stayed at very nice -- and some historically significant -- hotels and always, always had wonderful meals! We only had one minor mishap on our first day. We encountered the famous mistral winds and our cue sheets were blown from the bike. We managed to gather each and every one of them! This May we also biked in the Dordogne region...and again, our experience was fabulous. We will definitely travel with them again. Their routes are beautiful with very low traffic and we could have never found them on our own. My only caution to others like me (I hadn't even gotten on a bike this year) is to consider the hills. Next time I may be renting a pedal-assist ebike!

The tour started and finished in Avignon. I was very happy with the organization, the cues sheets, the accommodation (I had the A+ plan) and the food was superb. I did not rent a bike but I saw the quality of their rental bikes and they look to be very good. I traveled alone on a self guided tour and had no issues. I am already planning another tour for next year. I certainly can recommend this company.
