The tour starts with guests being collected at their accommodation. This is a relaxing day, with a knowledgeable guide and the private use of the vehicle exclusively for guests. The first stop is at the tranquil setting of Rabbit Island. The long sandy beach and parkland creates a peaceful environment that can be explored by either a walk or bike ride along a dedicated cycle trail.
After a short drive to the coastal village of Mapua (or catch the little Ferry from Rabbit Island to Mapua wharf), there is time to explore the small village by bike or walking and stop off at the shops, studios, and galleries. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the wharf area, with lots of photo opportunities. This is also the location for a relaxing lunch at one of the restaurants on the wharf.
After lunch, the tour is vehicle-based. There will be opportunities to sample some locally produced wines in the picturesque countryside. This gives a real flavor of New Zealand and the area has the feel of being a hidden gem. It also provides the opportunity to visit more studios and galleries.
