Explore the islands of Kos, Leros, Tilos and Nissyros by mountain bike. No off-road adventure will be left unexplored. Parts of the Greek Aegean have been developing steadily over the past few years towards becoming a very attractive and diversified mountain bike holiday destination. Many new trails have been constructed and many existing ones have been cleared and maintained. The varying terrain offers riders everything from natural paths to varying single trails. Some more technical and others more flowy. The best way to experience the highlights of the Aegean is by boat and bike! A ton of fun is to be had here. The islands are a magical world with every island offering its own unique character, history and sprawling nature.

Itinerary Details

  1. Day 1Bodrum (Embarkation)

    Individual arrival to Bodrum harbor.

    A fee-based collective transfer from Bodrum Airport to the harbor is available for an extra cost on request. Check-in begins on the Gullet at 2 pm. Alternatively, you can fly to Kos Airport and take the ferry across to Bodrum for check-in (if you choose to arrive via Kos, make sure that your flight arrives no later than 2 pm in Kos in order to catch the ferry connection).

    Use the evening hours to enjoy the lively vibe in the city of Bodrum and relax with a typical Turkish tea. In the evening a collective dinner on board can be enjoyed in the company of your travel companions and tour guides.

  2. Day 2 Bodrum – Yalıçiftlik – Kos

    Level A cycling: aprx. 14 mi./22 km, 1,900 ft./580 m of elevation

    Level B cycling: aprx. 12 mi./19 km, 1,500 ft./460 m of elevation)

    The first bike tour of the week takes you to Kızılağaç, which is famous for its local farmer’s market. After a break, you will continue biking. Once you arrive in Yalıçiftlik you will board the boat for lunch and cruise to Kos town. An entourage of cultural sights in Kos town will give an insight into its turbulent historical past: The Roman Forum, the Crusader fortress and the mosques from the time when Kos was still part of the Ottoman Empire. The evening is rounded off in one of the numerous bars and cafes.

  3. Day 3Kos Island/Kos Town - Tilos Island

    Level A cycling: aprx. 19 mi./30 km, 2,400 ft./720 m of elevation

    Level B cycling: aprx. 14 mi./23 km, 2,600 ft./780 m of elevation)

    You will bike through town this morning and continue through fragrant pine forests on a gradually ascending natural trail to the peak of the backyard mountain of Kos. While riding along the islands ridge you will gather plenty of breathtaking panoramic views. 

    The descent takes you along diverse trails back into the direction of Kos town. Technical sections combined with flowy corners and berms will offer all riders a multifaceted experience. A relaxing cruise takes you to Tilos Island in the afternoon.

  4. Day 4Tilos Island - Nissyros Island

    Level A + B cycling: aprx. 16 mi./26 km; 2,400 ft./730 m of elevation)

    Today an exceptional trail cocktail takes you to the abandoned village of Mikrochorio, whose unique charm will leave a lasting impression on all who visit. A long coastal trail, rated amongst the top ten best coastal trails in Europe by BIKE magazine in Germany, brings you back to the boat.

    After a delicious lunch, you can relax onboard and enjoy the sea breeze during the approximate two-hour boat crossing to Mandraki on the island of Nissyros.

  5. Day 5Nissyros Island – Kalymnos Island

    Level A + B: aprx. 16 mi./26 km, 2,500 ft./770 m of elevation

    Today’s bike tour initially takes you on tar sealed roads (saving your efforts) from Mandraki to Nikia – a mountain village built directly on the edge of the volcanic crater at 1,400 ft./430 m above sea level. From here you can enjoy a fascinating view of the volcano crater. Not only the volcano but also the white houses and the numerous mosaics made of pebbles.

    From here you will bike closer to the crater with its steaming sulphur springs and bike along diverse trails back to the ship in the small port town of Mandraki. Once back at the harbor you will board the boat for an approximate four-hour cruise to an anchorage on the island of Kalymnos for the night.

  6. Day 6Leros Island – Pserimos Island

    Level A cycling: aprx. 22 mi./35 km, 3,000 m of elevation

    Level B cycling: aprx. 16 mi./26 km, 2,200 ft./680 m of elevation

    Early morning crossing to the scenic Island of Leros. Today’s ride leads you to the fort of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem in Agia Marina and down an epic flight of stairs down into the small alleyways of the town. Passing the picturesque town harbor, you will cycle onto the seaside chapel of Agios Isidoros, a popular chapel on the island to get married in.

    Following the coastline, you will reach a beautiful sandy beach where you can stop for a swim and coffee. The highlight of today is the newly constructed Kalamari Trail, which merges directly with the Lighthouse Trail. After the trails, you will roll along the coastline back to the boat. Onboard you will enjoy an approximate three-hour cruise to the island of Pserimos.

  7. Day 7Kos Island – Bodrum

    Level A cycling: 19 mi./30 km, 2,300 ft./700 m of elevation

    Level B cycling: 15 mi./24 km, 990 ft./300 m of elevation

    In the morning you will cross over to Kos town. The last bike ride of this tour begins here and leads you either once more along a myriad of trails to the backyard mountain of Kos or a more leisurely tour to one of the lovely beaches.

    After lunch ashore, you will enjoy the last cruise aboard until you reach Bodrum. Here you can again go for a walk through the lively and eastern old town of Bodrum with its impressive castle of the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem and the remains of the famous Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

    An evening meal is enjoyed together in the company of guides and guests.

  8. Day 8Bodrum (Disembarkation)

    Disembarkation after breakfast. Collective transfers to Bodrum Airport are available for an additional fee.

    If you wish to fly home from the Island of Kos your ferry will depart at 09:30 am. Please ensure that your flight departure from Kos is no earlier than 1 pm.
