Itinerary Details

  1. Day 1Hanoi - Lao Cai

    Meet up at a designated hotel at 7am to meet the rest of the group and then you will be driven out of Hanoi city to Yen Bai. Here you will start a fascinating ride past many local villages behind Red River.

    You will ride past rice fields and tea plantations before arriving in town for lunch, keep riding until you reach Lao Cai. You will spend about 40 km (24.8 mi) on an off-road track (pretty wide) as you start climbing. After many villages and a beautiful narrow suspension bridge, you will enjoy a long wide track section that starts along terraces and leads to an off-road pass. It eventually finishes on a long and wide off-road track near a river.

    Lunch with noodle soup and breads, fruits, tea and coffee will be served..Then you will ride until you reach asphalt roads where the minibus will be waiting at Bao Ha to transfer you to Lao Cai.

  2. Day 2Lao Cai - Cocly - Bac Ha

    In the morning you will eat breakfast in a local restaurant with rice noodle soup, banana pancakes, bread, coffee and tea. You will then be transferred by van to Cocly with a boat trip to Bao Nhai. You will then start riding to NamDec with two challenging climbs. After approximately 20 km (12.4 mi) you will stop for lunch. After lunch, you will ride down to Bac Ha and have dinner tonight in a Congphu local restaurant.

  3. Day 3Bac Ha - Xin Man

    After breakfast in the hotel, you will start biking directly outside the front door and climb above Bac Ha through Di Thau. Then ride off-road in the mountain on a wide track to a mountain pass and a long asphalt downhill to Xin Man.

  4. Day 4Xin Man - Ho Thau - Hoang Su Phi

    After breakfast, you will be transferred by minibus to Gio Mountain and start biking from there on a flat asphalt road. After some 15 km (9.3 mi) you will take an off-road track (pretty wide) and start climbing. After some 15 km (9.3 mi) you will take an off-road track (pretty wide) and start climbing. After many villages and a beautiful narrow suspension bridge, you will enjoy a long single track section, starting on terraces by a long climb, leading to an off-road pass (about 1000m/3280ft of elevation) and finishing on a long downhill through rainforest. Lunch today consists of noodle soup and bread, fruits, tea and coffee. After lunch, you will join an asphalt road that leads to Ho Thau where the minibus is waiting. One motorbike will assist the group until meeting with the minibus. The vehicle takes the guests from this meeting point over a small asphalt pass (tough climb and long steep downhill).  Meet the support team then minibus transfer to Hoang Su Phi.

  5. Day 5Hoang Su Phi - Vi Xuyen - Ha Giang

    After breakfast, you will be riding from your overnight stop to the starting point (6 km/3.7mi). This climbing ride takes you through the typical villages and landscapes of this region you got to know yesterday. Again you will find longer single track sections with a climb through terraces until you reach an off-road pass of about 1300 m (4265 ft) of elevation. A downhill section passing waterfalls and forests brings you to the asphalt at Vang Luong village. The minibus is ready and waiting to give you a short 20-minute transfer to Ha Giang ( 28 km/17 mi) where you will have dinner and spend the night in a hotel..

    Note : A motorbike will assist and give support from the start to the meeting point with the minibus.

  6. Day 6Ha Giang - Bac Quang - Hanoi

    In the morning after breakfast, a car will take the group out of the city (5 km/3.1 mi). Then you will begin off-road cycling through basically flat countryside roads for some 35km (21.7mi).

    After lunch, you will get back in the car and be transferred to Hanoi (230km/143mi) where the tour ends.
