From the City of Coyhaique you will start the most southern bicycle section of Route 7, the Carretera Austral, in the middle of a landscape of mountains, Patagonian steppe, ice fields and great possibilities of adverse weather conditions. You will cross the Cerro Castillo National Reserve, and cycle beside the turquoise colors of the General Carrera Lake in the town of Puerto Tranquilo.

You will sail in the middle of the Marble Cathedrals and trek with rewarding views to Backer River in Puerto Bertrand. You will enter the unique landscape of Patagonia between the city of Cochrane and the Eadis sector, to finish the tour in the village of the Caleta Tortel footbridges, where you will then be transferred back to the city of Coyhaique to conclude the tour.

With glorious cycling, incredible views and exciting activities, this tour gives you an adventurous and unique insight into this lovely region.

The trip is classified as having a high difficulty, covering an average of 60 km (37 mi) per day. The Carretera Austral, at this point, consists of approximately 443 km (275 mi) gravel and 120 km (74.5 mi) pavement. Previous experience in recreational or professional cycling sports is essential to get the most out of this trip as is being in good physical condition with training prior to the trip.
