Join an 11 day tour stretching through three countries – Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland – where much important European history from the last century was written, and embark on a fascinating tour.
Located in Central Europe, the Czech Republic has operated as a bridge between western Europe and the Slavic east for hundreds of years. Located between Germany and Poland to the north, and Austria and Slovakia to the south, the Czech Republic is a lively country that may be the best representation of classic Europe. With its iconic cities, affinity for beer, and idyllic countryside, the Czech Republic is a fantastic cycling destination.
Crisscrossed by a network of legitimate cycling pathways, the Czech Republic has 1,000 kms (621 mi) of dedicated bike paths and over 20,000 kms (12,427 mi) of cycling routes — which includes some city streets. All this cycling infrastructure has turned this small European country into a cycling paradise. Prague is the obvious first destination in the Czech Republic for most, as its culture, food, and architecture make it one of the best cities to visit in the world. Take a beer tour and learn how local breweries have redefined craft beer culture, or take a tour of the architecture, museums, and other important sites and learn why many who come to Prague end up never wanting to leave. The region surrounding Prague is known as Bohemia, where you can explore castles and mansions while sipping some of the world's finest beer. The eastern parts of the Czech Republic are in the more hilly territory of Moravia, where you will find the highest point of Czech Sněžka at 1,603 m (5,259 ft). Moravia is known for its wine and for cycling routes that will take you directly to most of the major wineries in the area.
If you’re looking for something a little more epic the Prague-Vienna Greenways are a network of trails and pathways that will take you all the way from Prague to Vienna, Austria. There are also routes that will take you from Krakow to Prague, and the more mellow Dresden to Prague; no matter what level of cyclist you are, you can find a route to suit your style in the Czech Republic.
