We had a lovely day cycling 35 km (22 mi) along the shore and through the vineyards to our lunchtime destination. We were picked up from our accommodation and given good quality bikes and helmets and a map to help us navigate. The weather was good and it was great fun with a wonderful lunch at The Black Barn Vineyard with wine tasting and shopping before we were picked up and returned to our accommodation. Well worth it.

Brilliant Day in Napier

We had a fantastic day cycling from Ahuriri to Havelock North – approximately a 35 km (22 mi) ride on bike paths covering coastal scenery, villages, community parks, rural properties, commercial orchards and wineries.

We stopped for a well deserved lunch at Chalk and Cheese Cafe which was an added highlight to our day already so full of highlights.

The suburb of Havelock North is so gorgeous and it was a pity that we did not have enough time to be able to wander the many interesting and lovely shops. We needed to get back to browse the art deco of Napier and then back to our cruise ship.

Arranging the tour with Jenny was easy. She was so efficient and friendly in her emails, and once we arrived in Napier everything went according to plan.

The service from all the staff at Takaro Trails is excellent and we would do it all again.
