Tour Brief
A diverse and easy-going ride, this tour will start and finish at the coastal village of Ahuriri. Along the way you will pass through sights that are unique to this region. First of which is the city of Napier with its world-renowned Art Deco style buildings. You’ll feel like you’re transported back in time as you cycle through.
The rest of the way is filled with stunning coastal views, dreamy orchards and fascinating birds and wildlife at the Ahuriri Estuary. Of course this trip wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the region’s finest wineries such as Mission Estate and Church Road Wines.
Take a detour onto the coastal settlement of Bay View where you will find the Crab Farm Winery, a boutique winery and restaurant with a passion for live music. And finally, finish the loop back in Ahuriri with a visit to Urban Winery. It is home to Tony Bish Wines and their beautiful cellar door and wine bar. Coincidentally, the winery is located in another art deco gem structure, the historic National Tobacco Company.
For guests who have opted to take the full day version of this tour, you will also be able to visit the Māori star compass, Ātea a Rangi, during the tour.
