Itinerary Details

Ride The Trail and Bike The Wineries

This 3/4-day self-guided ride begins with a shuttle from Queenstown to Arrow Junction, where you'll be fitted with a bike and briefed on the local wineries. The ride starts with a scenic 6 km trail following the Arrow and Kawarau rivers, crossing iconic landmarks like the Edgar Swing Bridge and Kawarau Suspension Bridge, the birthplace of bungy jumping.

In the afternoon, you'll cycle the Gibbston River Trail, stopping at cellar doors of your choice. Enjoy lunch at a winery or bring a picnic. Covering up to 17 km, the trail is easy to navigate. The day ends with a shuttle pick-up at 4:30 pm from your chosen winery.

Ride Schedule

10:20 am - Check-in at the Tour Operator's shop
10:30 am - prompt shuttle departure
30 mins - Start of your ride with 6kms to the first winery and crossing over spectacular bridges
4 hrs - Explore the venues of the Gibbston Valley, tasting world-class food and wine as you go
4:30 pm - The return shuttle departs from your chosen winery in Gibbston, arriving back in Queenstown at approximately 5:10 PM.
