You will discover several locations along the way, including Hornopirén, Chaitén, Villa Santa Lucía, La Junta, Puyuhuapi, Mañihuales and Coyhaique. In these destinations, you will stop and rest at diverse lodgings and feeding stops, where you will learn some of the history and traditions of the local culture. This cycle touring route takes place over tarmac and gravel roads, as well as some challenges such as the Moraga and Queulat slopes.

Aside from the magnificent cycling, the tour also includes trekking through the Pumalin National Park, a visit to the hot springs at Ventisquero de Puyuhuapi and guided trekking on the Lagoon Tempano or the Queulat Glacier at Queulat National Park.

The trip is classified as having a difficulty of medium/high, covering an average of 62 km (38 mi) per day. The Carretera Austral, at this point, consists of approximately 150 km (93 mi) gravel and 409 km (254 mi) of tarmac. Previous experience in recreational or professional cycling sports is essential to get the most out of this trip as is being in good physical condition with training prior to the trip.
