You will ride just under 927 kilometers (576 miles) in 9 days of riding on smooth tarmac roads. The trip is fully supported and your guide’s expert knowledge of the area and terrain means that you always know what is coming up in terms of distance and difficulty. Stage 1: Into the Highlands
Your journey begins on the iconic Northern Cross-Island Highway as you climb into the Central Mountains, riding through dense forests, river valleys, and picturesque farmland.
Stage 2: Wuling Pass – East Asia's Highest Road
At 3,275 metres above sea level, Wuling Pass is Taiwan's highest paved road. Reaching the summit is a true rite of passage and the iconic finish of Taiwan's annual KOM Challenge.
Stage 3: Taroko Gorge
Experience one of the world's great cycling descents as you ride nearly 90 km through Taroko National Park, home to the world's deepest marble gorge. You'll also enjoy a well-earned rest day in this spectacular region.
Stage 4: The East Rift Valley
After the demanding mountain stages, you'll enjoy gentler riding through the fertile East Rift Valley, cycling past rice paddies, winding rivers, and Indigenous villages. Along the way, you'll unwind at relaxing hot spring resorts.
Stage 5: The Pacific Coast
Cross the Coastal Range to reach Taiwan's breathtaking east coast, where you'll ride alongside the Pacific Ocean through fishing villages and scenic coastal landscapes.
Stage 6: Southern Beaches
Your adventure concludes at the southernmost tip of Taiwan as you ride around the edge of Kenting National Park, home to some of the island's most beautiful white-sand beaches. You'll spend two nights at a seaside resort in Kenting before transferring to Kaohsiung, Taiwan's second-largest city, where your journey comes to an end.
