  • How long is the tour? How many days cycling?

The tour is 10 days long with 7 days of cycling.

  • Where does the tour start and end?

The tour begins and concludes in Kathmandu, Nepal. Fly in and out of Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM).

***Disclaimer: The adventure cycling tours the tour operator operates often go beyond the beaten track, and the countries where you ride are not always predictable. Due to these reasons, it is occasionally necessary to reroute or update itineraries. The tour operator ensures that they will not change a trip unless for safety or to improve it. Their listed hotels are always accurate at the time of writing, but should they have to change any hotel, it will always be a similar or better one.

  • How many riders will be in the group? What is the minimum age to join?

The maximum number of participants is 16 and the minimum is 2. The minimum age to join the tour is 18 years old.

  • Can you describe the tour?

This is an adventurous trip on demanding terrain in a very remote region. Roads and trails are raw and technical, and pushing and carrying the bike will be necessary on some sections. The sheer variety of track on this trip is what makes it special- from high mountain trekking trail to mountainside farms and villages to narrow forest to rocky river valleys- and ensures you'll never be bored. There will be vehicle transport on most days, but only in certain areas. A Camelback or hydration pack to carry extra water and snacks is essential.

While this trip isn't in the higher altitude regions of the famous Himalaya treks, the views will be just as good and the local community authentic and almost completely untouched by mass tourism. Expect humble accommodations in local guest and teahouses, where you'll be both the object of wonder and the guest of honor, given the best available and fuelled heartily!

All-mountain terrain, epic Himalayan scenery, and an undiscovered, tourist-free region make this trip a rare gem.

Suitability: This isn't a classic high-altitude Himalayan trek, but it's no less challenging! Though the highest point of elevation on this trip is 4,000 meters, you'll be riding consistently at a much lower elevation than that. The terrain is rough, raw and will require pushing and carrying the bikes uphill in some sections. As this is an "enduro" style mountain bike trip, riders need to be very physically fit to manage the ample ascents and descents on tough, technical tracks. This trip is suited for confident riders with a high level of off-road and single-track experience.

Biking Conditions: This trip takes place on a mixture of single track, double track, and rough, dirt mountain roads. The terrain is hilly, rocky, and highly technical. Some days the trail will be long and undulating, through tight jungle, other fast and sweeping down the region's tallest peaks.

  • Are bicycles included?

Bike hire is not included in the tour price. You can opt to rent one or bring your own. If you bring your own bike, please ensure it is a mountain bike with front suspension, in good mechanical order.

  • Please see a message from the tour operator about policies relating to COVID-19

The Tour Operator is committed to ensuring all trips are safe and that they travel responsibly with the safety of riders, staff and local communities paramount, always.

Their health and safety policies follow recommendations from the World Health Organisation and the World Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) Safe Travel protocols for tour operators and they have worked with all their suppliers to undergo a comprehensive risk assessment and safety audit for every trip. As every country is different with varying and fast-changing requirements for entry, they require for every trip tocommit to the following basic requirements:
    - All participants must be double vaccinated by a recognised vaccine and will need to show evidence upon booking and on arrival.
    - All Tour Operator tour leaders and support staff will have completed a COVID-19 health and safety training course and will all have been double vaccinated prior to a tour starting. For 2021 departures onwards, they are planning to have our leaders tested within 72 hours of meeting the group.
    - The Tour Operator follows the World Travel and Tourism Council’s Safe Travels protocol and has received the stamp of approval, which provides travellers with an assurance that they have adopted the health and hygiene global standardised protocols.

  • Are helmets included when hiring a bike?

Yes, if you're hiring a bike from the operator, a complimentary helmet is provided, although you are welcome to bring your own if you wish.
