Halfway through the trip, hop on your bikes and make your way to Noordwijk aan Zee, where the scenery changes as you get closer to the coast. Located in Holland’s famous Dune and Bulb Region, Noordwijk is especially spectacular in spring when the surrounding fields burst into colour with blooming tulips. Keukenhof Flower Park is the big-name attraction and a wonderful place to see the flowers, although it can get busy during its short 8-week season. Prefer to skip the crowds? No problem! You can visit Space Expo, discover the wonders of space travel, or simply head to the beach for a swim, a paddle or some good old-fashioned sandcastle building.
On the scenic ride back to Zoetermeer, there’s still plenty to discover. Choose from museums covering everything from nature and the human body to ancient civilisations, or take a step back in time at Molen de Valk, a historic tower windmill and museum in Leiden.
