What's the tour like?
You will ride 636 km (395 mi) in 11 days of cycling, but most of the tour is on flat terrain and on paved roads, so the distances are not too strenuous. The route designed the route to take in the best of Rajasthan's culture, countryside, and wildlife, all while enjoying an active holiday. There are two strenuous climbs on Day 10, but the distance is shortened to take the hills into account. The pace is easy, and on Day 11, there will be an exhilarating descent towards Udaipur. The trip is fully supported, and your guide’s expert knowledge of the area and terrain means that you always know what is coming up in terms of distance and difficulty. This makes a tremendous difference, as does the constant supply of cold drinks and fresh fruit.
Suitability: The riding is moderately easy on this tour, with only one day of climbs. Having a basic level of physical fitness will allow you to enjoy this tour more, especially having spent some time in the saddle. Again, the tour is fully supported, and the vehicle is always close at hand if needed.
Biking Conditions: This trip is on a mix of asphalt and gravel roads. As you will ride on minor roads, they may be in various states of disrepair with many rough sections and pot holes, which is why you will use mountain bikes. The tour leader is trained in first aid and emergency rescue. But to a large degree, riders must be responsible for their own safety during the tour. It is therefore compulsory that you take out travel insurance that will cover you for a cycling tour.
