Mekong Delta Family Cycle Tour

What a brilliant tour! It was with slight trepidation that we opted for the 3 day/2 night Mekong Delta Family Tour, with only one of us a seasoned cyclist (two being kids of 11 and 13 who don’t regularly cycle) and distances in total of 120km! But what an experience. [The operator']s communications from the outset were fantastic and the organization was second to none. The bikes were top notch and refreshments and breaks were perfectly timed, in between information delivered during our leisurely ride, which included crossing the river on boats, riding through paddy fields and learning about the kilns and wildlife whilst being warmly greeted by locals who we rode past. The home stay on the first night was an unexpected highlight, including a cooking class and amazing food, even showing the kids the fireflies outside. We visited the floating markets before our final ride and had delicious lunches organized at local restaurants.
Our tour guide, An, was the perfect person to lead us: full of patience, good humor and really knowledgeable. We can’t recommend him highly enough as he really made our trip.
This tour was an incredible way of experiencing South Vietnam, learning about the area and feeling adventurous.

Thank you Thai for a fantastic 3 day tour for our family. So much information shared, local knowledge and tasty local foods. Such a great way to see the Mekong area, riding through villages virtually untouched by tourists. I'd recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience wonderful scenery, learn about local life and history and to get a taste of the real Vietnam.
