During the trip, you'll participate in excursions to Atacama salt flats, altiplano lagoons and the Tatio geysers. You'll enjoy exploring this unique part of the world from the back of a bike.

This trip is classified Road with an activity level of 4 (moderate/challenging). The average daily distance: 51km (32 miles) with the number of days cycling out of the 13-day trip being 10. There is full vehicle support on the tour. The set itinerary is not technical, however, please note that the majority of this tour is spent at high altitude and some days the group is cycling above 3000m/9842ft where the air is noticeably thinner. Because of this, the tour operator recommends that you have a good level of fitness for this tour.

The terrain and route are approximately 80% tarmac and 20% unpaved roads. There are some large elevation gains; mixed cycling terrain; variable weather conditions and some remote locations. Most of the roads are in good condition, although there can occasionally be potholes and poorer conditions in some short sections. You should be prepared for some cycling on unpaved gravel/dirt roads. The roads are generally free of heavy traffic until you reach towns where you are more likely to encounter other vehicles.
