Base yourself in Queenstown for three days of outstanding trail riding through some of New Zealand’s most iconic landscapes, from dramatic river gorges and alpine scenery to historic townships and world-class wine country. With Queenstown as your base, you can enjoy three unforgettable rides without the hassle of changing accommodation. Your accommodation is arranged independently, while all bike logistics are taken care of. Each evening, your bike will be collected, serviced and made ready for the next day’s adventure.

Day 1 takes you through the spectacular Kawarau Gorge, following the river from Gibbston to Bannockburn. Ride past dramatic rock formations, cross suspension bridges and discover traces of the region’s gold-mining history before finishing near Carrick Winery.

Day 2 begins with a shuttle to historic Arrowtown, where you can explore its charming streets before hopping on your bike. Follow scenic riverside trails and cross suspension bridges into the celebrated Gibbston Valley wine region. Stop at cellar doors, breweries and cafés along the way, enjoying the freedom to explore at your own pace.

Day 3 brings a more challenging ride back towards central Queenstown via the Twin Rivers and Shotover Gorge trails. Tackle the Hugo Tunnel, navigate technical sections and take on rewarding climbs, with river valleys and alpine scenery accompanying you along the way. Return to central Queenstown with three days of memorable riding behind you.

This adventure combines scenic trails, local history, wine-country discoveries and technical riding, making it an ideal choice for confident cyclists looking to experience the best of Queenstown from a single base.

The trails are wide and gravel-based, predominantly Grade 2-3 with a couple of short Grade 4 sections. As three consecutive days of riding, this tour is best suited to keen and capable riders with some prior mountain biking experience. Minimum 2 riders per booking.

Please note: A mandatory NZ$5.00 levy will be included per person to access Kawarau Gorge Trail.
